Connor Bell, Medical Student

Welcome to Medical Student Connor Bell who will be joining us in the office as part of the Tufts CAP program.

Connor grew up in Gorham, Maine with his parents and younger brother. He attended the University of New Hampshire and studied Medical Microbiology.  Connor’s extracurricular activities included rowing for the crew team, and starting the half marathon club. During his time at UNH he also participated in undergraduate research focused on evolutionary biology. This helped provide experience to be hired at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston after graduation. Over the course of three years at Dana, he studied the shifting epigenetic landscape of various transcription factors during the progression of prostate cancer. Connor belonged to the Dana Farber Science Enrichment program, which focused on teaching science to students in lower income areas. In his free time Connor enjoys running, trying out new places to eat, or playing with his two year old golden retriever. 

“I chose the Maine track because it is an extremely unique program geared towards understanding the challenges faced by healthcare practitioners in rural settings. The LIC really caught my eye as well, providing the opportunity of full immersion into such an intimate environment alongside doctors and nurses isn't something medical students get to experience very often. Ultimately I hope to practice in Maine, and I believe the Maine track would best prepare me to achieve that goal.”
